FillZ Launches Revamped Web Site After Record-breaking Year
(Victoria, BC-16 January 2008) FillZ Inc., a subsidiary of AbeBooks specializing in inventory management for online media merchants, kicked off the New Year by re-launching its newly redesigned web site (www.fillz.com).
In 2003, Miron Cuperman developed a powerful infrastructure to assist professional online sellers in managing inventory, pricing and orders effectively across multiple sales channels. While the back-end performed solidly, the front-end design was lacking cohesion prompting the first design change since the company's inception. The new site offers a break-down of the business model, company biographies, media coverage, and seller profiles. FillZ sellers typically list books, music, movies and games through various fixed-price marketplaces.
FillZ, acquired by AbeBooks in February 2006, used its parent company's design team to update the site, which is the latest landmark in two years of remarkable growth:
| In 2005, FillZ facilitated orders worth $20 million USD and last year more than $100 million; | |
| In 2006, clients were selling 12,000 items per day through FillZ, but last year more than 30,000 items were being moved daily; | |
| Eight new employees were hired in Sales, Marketing, Development, Operations and Customer Support last year; | |
| In 2007, FillZ added 7 additional marketplaces rounding off the list at 20, offering more venues than any competitor in the industry; |
FillZ helps sellers access the following online marketplaces: AbeBooks, Alibris, Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, a1 Marketplace, Barnes & Noble.com, Biblio, ChooseBooks, Chrislands, eBay Stores. eBay Express, eCampus Marketplace, Gemm, Half.com, TextbooksRus, TextBookX, and ValoreBooks.
"It was an exciting 2007 at FillZ," says FillZ President Shaun Jamieson. "Our business has more than doubled yet again. I'm really pleased with what our small team has accomplished in the past year and excited about what's to come. FillZ is now a serious player in our market and we don't see our growth slowing."
